Additional Background Information on Tunisia

With relation to Tunisia and the role of Washington Concensus policies there please read this work hereLINK.
I do not have time to cover the causes but this short work by Stephen J. King includes a very nice introduction with sufficient background on World Bank policy, followed by actual ethnographic data that show the true effects of so called liberalization on the ground.  It is interesting to note the contradictions between this work and World Bank reports like this one LINK . As riots  are quelled we are most probably seeing the beginning of hyperinflation induced riots in the developing world, something that if understood properly has the potential to mobilize the Muslim world toward formulating resistance to the norms of globalization and advancing the Islamic Awakening by creating a real coherent anti-globalist movement for reform. Unfortunately, the alternative is that the people stay asleep and millions more die this year alone as a consequence. Please take time to give a read through the previous post on Tunisia from IslamicDawn, at least the introduction of King's book and the synopsis of the World Bank Report to familiarize yourself with these essential distinctions. Additionally, the work by King documents an approach to Political Science that many of our academics could utilize to create positivist scientific work that advance normative Islamic alternatives. Unfortunately, we can only speak of reform and revolution as amateurs until we truly understand how all the pieces move. If you open these links and have questions. Feel free to post them in the comments section or email to islampolicy@gmail.com
