The 27 lessons is the short course but, the basic course is actually 60 lessons. They recommend that people do the short course first because you learn 100 words. However, the basic course you learn around 300 words which occur 55,000 times in the Quran; which represents 70% of the vocabulary in the Quran. You can download the videos for the basic course as you go along, inchallah.
