Joseph Stieglitz, Dani Rodrick and more at the 50th anniversary of the Center for Development Economics at Williams College 10/2010

Note: This is not an endorsement of any view, just an effort to facilitate education and promote an interesting discourse centered around economic development as we continue to steer away from principles and into specifics over time. 


This first video discusses what "economic development" is from a contemporary perspective, the flaw being that GDP cannot measure distribution of wealth. Simple measures of economic growth do not show who is benefiting from that growth. At least they include the Human Development Index, but we should certainly have our own, still the discrepancies are astonishing:
